Precedent: A Public Reading of the Roe v. Wade Decision
Friday, October 1, 2021, 4 pm.
First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE (Entrance on Comanche)
The Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice and First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque invite you to a public reading of the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion.
Barriers to abortion on the state and federal levels have increased in the decades since Roe v. Wade, a trend that is escalating rather than slowing. As we watch with horror the events in Texas and elsewhere, we take this moment to remind the community that while Roe is still the law of the land, it has never been enough to guarantee true abortion access. We’ll read the decision loud and proud, as well as hearing context from NM RCRC Director Joan Lamunyon Sanford. Come out and be a witness to rights that we will not give up without a fight.
