First Unitarian seeks an experienced and strategic-minded Director of Facilities to provide management, planning and leadership for the congregation’s campus facilities. This position requires experience and training specific to facilities management. The DoF will work closely with the ministers, and supervise employees and volunteers to support the church’s mission and programs.

First Unitarian has approximately 750 members and is a community of about 1200 people, with an annual budget of just over $1 million. The congregation owns a four-acre campus composed of several buildings, including a sanctuary constructed in 2012. The congregation has grown and is working hard to keep up with the new levels of management and leadership required for a church our size. Our capable staff team values collaboration and comradery. The church is transitioning from a closed campus (due to COVID-19) to a full reopening. Most work will be conducted onsite, with some remote work also possible. This position is the first to respond to any facility crises on the campus, including break-ins, collaborating with our alarm company and private patrol company. The church office is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

We seek a Director of Facilities with experience and training in management and operations. Childcare Provider

The role of a Childcare Provider is to provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to children while on our church campus in a clean environment. The Childcare Provider reports to the Religious Education Assistant. The Childcare Provider supports the purposes and policies of First Unitarian and its religious education program. Providers work mostly Sundays for 2-5 hours. Church groups who inquire about childcare for their event will submit requests to Religious Education Assistant, who will provide childcare staff as needed.

Childcare Providers must be at least 14 years of age, be willing to complete Childcare and First Aid training, pass the mandatory background check provided and paid for by First Unitarian, show proof of full vaccination against the COVID-19 virus, have great communication skills, possess a willingness to work as a member of a childcare and Religious Education team, have very good time-management skills, and should be able to solve problems as they arise. Rental Facility Host

We are seeking multiple friendly people to represent First Unitarian for rental events at the church. This position requires a unique combination of great customer service skills, comfort with new audio/visual systems, and ability to physically handle the setup and cleanup of special events.
