Sunday Explorations: Being Centered or “Maladjusted to the Way Things Are.”

    January 8, 2023

Where is your center calling you to go? What does it mean to be centered—at peace and calm or a place from which you are pushed or launched? What are your top 5 core values. Pick your five core values from this list of possibilities. Acting on your core values—taking purposeful pauses, creating more space for intentional choices and actions. We need to remember that achieving a balance of equality requires us to be purposefully off-balance and out of step with our culture, or as Martin Luther King Jr. said, we need people who are maladjusted to the way things are.

Bring your coffee or tea and join us for community and discussion on Sundays at 10:00 am, either in the Arnold Room or via Zoom.

    Earth Web Monthly Meeting

    Earth Web Monthly Meeting

    January 8, 2023

First Unitarian’s environmental team, Earth Web, meets on the second Sunday of each month at 12:15 pm, both on campus and on Zoom, and all are welcome to attend. This year we plan to focus on water issues, looking at both personal and congregational ways to use our scarce resource responsibly. We will offer opportunities to educate and celebrate around this issue. We will also engage in legislative action on conservation, environmental, and water issues. Please consider visiting the NM State Engineer’s website,, for information on xeriscaping. Contact Marilyn O’Boyle at if you would like more information about getting involved!
