Change for the Future 2022

The Change for the Future program takes the coins collected from our Sunday Offerings and distributes them to four different nonprofit groups each year. The congregation voted on which groups will participate in this program during 2022 at our Annual Meeting on January 30, 2022.

This year’s recipients:
  • March – May 2022: The Transgender Resource Center of NM provides advocacy, education, and direct services in support of transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and gender variant people and their families.
  • June – August 2022: Family Promise Albuquerque: Our mission is to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
  • September – November 2022: For over three decades, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) has served our community as the only health care organization in Central New Mexico dedicated exclusively to providing services to homeless people. AHCH provides critical services to over 7,000 men, women and children every year. By addressing the health-related causes of homelessness, AHCH makes it possible for people to find solutions to end their homelessness.
  • December 2022 – February 2023: Street Safe New Mexico is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit that follows a harm-reduction philosophy by striving to reduce the harmful consequences associated with life on the street. Most of the women we serve have been victims of human sex-trafficking, while others have struggled with homelessness and addiction.
