Adult Religious Education

Come deepen your journey of meaning in conversation with other seekers! Our classes for adults provide opportunities for newcomers, long-time Unitarian Universalists and everyone in between to explore, in facilitated small groups, a variety of topics including faith development, Unitarian Universalist history and identity, ethics, spiritual practices, theology, social justice, and world religions.

Our classes are based on the 3rd and 4th principles of Unitarian Universalism: acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations, and a free and responsible search for truth and meaning.

Our Mission and Vision for Adult Religious Education:

First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque is a community that encourages and supports curious seekers who meet to explore spiritual, ethical and social issues in an accepting and nurturing environment.

We envision a faith community that engages in the spiritual journey as a lifelong process in:

Developing our faith through…

  • Unitarian Universalist identity formation,
  • religious, theological, and spiritual discernment, and
  • personal and community practices

Inspiring justice by…

  • developing moral and social courage,
  • practicing radically inclusive love, and
  • challenging oppression and injustice

…that together we may embody the Beloved Community.
