Senior
Minister, The Rev. Christine Robinson
Welcome to First Unitarian! Whether you are new to Unitarian Universalism or
simply new to this church, we are here to serve you. It is my fondest hope and
goal that those who come to us will find a place where they may grow in spirit,
find a comfortable place in a caring community, and make a contribution to a
congregation whose values and history inspire them.
Assistant
Minister, The Rev. Ronald A. Hersom
What a joy to have you visit First Unitarian! I hope that you were welcomed and
received graciously. I enjoy meeting newcomers and helping you learn about our
church and the liberal religious movement of which we are a part. If you have
any unanswered questions that you want to explore, I hope you will consider me a
resource. Just contact me through the church office.
Unitarian Universalism
Unitarian Universalism is a non-creedal religion with roots in the Protestant
Reformation and a Judeo-Christian heritage. Our members hold a wide variety of
theological views, ranging from liberal Christianity to Humanism to earth-based
spirituality.
Within our diversity, there are some things that unite us. We believe in the
importance of the individual’s free search for truth and meaning. We believe in
every person’s inherent worth and dignity; the importance of religious freedom;
the individual quest for truth within community; justice, equity, and compassion
in human relations; the right of conscience; the use of the democratic process
within our congregation and in society at large; and the goal of peace, liberty,
and justice within the world community.
